Carbon Credits

Not all credits are created equal.

Carbon credits help compensate for residual emissions by funding verified activities that reduce or remove greenhouse gases elsewhere. Credits are generated by financing projects that deliver measurable CO₂e reductions or removals.

Project types include:

  • Emission avoidance and reduction—for example, capturing and utilising landfill methane, destroying ozone‑depleting substances, or reducing leakage across energy delivery networks.

  • Nature‑based and technological removals—such as improved forest and land management to increase carbon stocks in biomass and soils, reforestation, and Direct Air Capture (DAC).

Quality matters. Poorly managed credit quality can create reputation and financial risk. Twintree helps de‑risk your approach, supporting you to develop and procure credits aligned with international best practice.

We apply a rigorous assessment and selection framework that tests the integrity of reductions/removals (e.g., additionality, permanence, leakage, double counting), the strength of monitoring, reporting and verification, and the positive social and environmental impacts where projects operate—so your portfolio stands up to scrutiny and supports your wider sustainability goals.
